Mackenzie Stevenson is a freelance photographer and photo editor based in Central New York. She focuses on exploring the connections between people and their environments, bringing local culture and community narratives to life through her photography.

Since 2017, Mackenzie has freelanced weddings and portraiture, building strong communication skills and the ability to put subjects at ease—qualities that enhance her documentary and editorial work. She recently graduated with a BFA from the Photojournalism program at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Mackenzie’s clients and collaborators include regional publications and organizations interested in storytelling that reflects the unique character of upstate New York. She is skilled in covering a variety of subjects, from news and events to portraits and feature stories, and brings empathy and professionalism developed through experience in healthcare and service roles.

Mackenzie is a certified commercial drone pilot and is available for freelance assignments—including aerial work—throughout Central New York, from Rochester and Syracuse to the Finger Lakes and beyond.
