Sasha’s Story

Sasha Kourbatova is a devoted gymnast, coach, wife, and mother of two young children, Gryffin (2) and Gemma (5). Kourbatova was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease (ALS) in May 2023. She went from being an active gymnast to not being able to carry her child up the stairs. Even though she is facing constant hurdles, and her life has taken an unexpected and devastating turn due to ALS, she continues to make to most of her time and stay positive for her family and friends. She believes it’s important to get her story out there and be an advocate for ALS awareness. This video shares some of Sasha’s personal background, and experience while she was developing symptoms and being diagnosed.
